SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A local supermarket is doing its part to help our veterans returning from duty.
The BIG Y in Springfield donated $30 thousand dollars to the Wounded Warrior project on Tuesday.
The program provides financial and emotional support to more than 44 thousand men and women who have been wounded in military conflict.
It's something veterans say they appreciate.
“This is important because it gives us an outside organization to reach out to, not just in the VA system, but in the organization that's truly dedicated to helping veterans other than the VA,” said Eric Seguno a Wounded Warriors Member.
Big Y promoted the campaign for weeks in flyers and in stores.
