CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Chicopee business leaders listened to Mayor Michael Bissonnette on Wednesday morning as he briefed them on the state of the city.

Bissonnette said that Chicopee faces changes and challenges going forward, but that the city’s finances are strong.

“We’ve been able to accumulate $15 million in rainy day funds, we have brought in more state and federal grants than any administration in the city’s history, and we have the lowest property tax bills for eight years running in western Massachusetts,” Bissonnette said.

The Mayor’s speech was part of the events at the February Salute Breakfast and Annual Meeting for the Chicopee Chamber of Commerce at the Castle of Knights.
