WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A bottle bomb scare occurred Sunday night in the city of Westfield.
Police Lieutenant Michael LaCroix told 22News that police received a call at 7:21 Sunday night about a reported bottle bomb exploding on the Greater River Bridge.
State police, firefighters and the bomb squad were called in shortly after more bottle bombs were found in a backpack under the train trestle at the corner of Orange Street and Elm Street.
22News was there as a bomb disposal robot was used to inspect a suspicious bottle, but it was determined to not be dangerous.
No injuries or damage were reported.
No arrests have made.
Lt. LaCroix told 22News police are still investigating the incident.
