SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) -

Bright Nights in Forest Park will open for its 18th season this week.

Lt. Gov. Tim Murray will join Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno for the ceremonial flipping of the switch on Wednesday, November 21st at 5:00PM.

In an effort to be more energy efficient, several of the light displays have been rebulbed with LED bulbs including the Happy Holiday's sign, the Everette Barney Mansion, Poinsettia Arch, Blizzard Tunnel and the leaping deer arches in the Winter Woods.

Several other pieces had to be rebuilt after last year's October snow storm.

The Bright Nights lights will be lit from Wednesday through Sunday, November 21 through December 2, and nightly from December 5 through January 1st starting at 5:00 PM.

Lights stay on until 9:00 PM Sunday through Thursday and until 11PM Fridays, Saturdays and holidays.

Admission is $6 per vehicle opening night on November 21, $18 per vehicle Monday through Thursday, and $21 per vehicle Fridays, Saturdays and holidays.  Buses with seating for 17 to 30 are charged $70 and those with 31+ seating are $150.
