HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - A 23 year-old Holyoke Community College student is set to be arraigned Wednesday for allegedly making threats that forced the evacuation of the campus on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office, Cameron Faniel is being charged in connection with the incident.

More than 3,000 HCC students and staff had to be evacuated on Tuesday afternoon, after state police say a young man made threats against a family member, and members of the college community. The campus remained closed for hours, but re-opened for evening classes after the situation was determined to be resolved.

Faniel, whose address is not immediately known, was arrested by troopers in Springfield amid the evacuation.
