SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield police are looking for the person who crashed into a Sumner Avenue property and then fled on foot.
Springfield police Lt. John Bobianski told 22news it happened just before 6pm Sunday night; a car went up on the curb, hit a crosswalk sign; then went through the fence and into the yard here at 619 Sumner Avenue.
The car came to rest against a parked car on Daytona Street. Police aren't sure who the driver is, but they think this is the same car involved in a state police chase Sunday night. State police were chasing a car on the highway but abandoned the chase near Longhill Street. State police towed the car and will hold it to look for evidence.
