Chicopee woman killed in Memorial Drive crash
Traffic backed up for hours

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - A 49 year old Chicopee woman was killed when the car she was driving hit a guardrail, sideswiped another vehicle and sheared a utility pole on busy Memorial Drive Tuesday afternoon.
Chicopee Police Captain Lonny Dakin told 22News it happened just minutes before 3:00 pm Tuesday in front on 1471 memorial Drive, near the Taco Bell Restaurant.
The crash and resulting investigation closed the northbound side of Memorial Drive for hours.
A Chicopee Electric Light Department repair crew replaced the pole. The road reopened to traffic around 9:00 Tuesday night.
