SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - For the second time in two years, The Washington Post has recognized Springfield's Central High School among the country's top academic high schools.
The Post began ranking U-S high schools last year, using the "Challenge Index," a measure of how effectively a school prepares its students for college.
This week's ranking places Central as one of the nation's top 1,900 academic high schools.
Central's state ranking rose from 34 last year to 19 this year.
