WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Charles Dickens classic tale "A Christmas Carol" was in good hands this afternoon in Westfield.
Charles Dickens' great-great grandson Gerald Charles Dickens performed his ancestor’s famous literary work at the Church of the Atonement in downtown Westfield.
Dickens told 22News, he believes his great-great-grandfather knew he was writing for more than his 19th century generation. But he's certain the great author would be surprised at the enduring popularity of for example "A Christmas Carol".
“The way his works especially A Christmas Carol is just worshipped all over the world still, he would be absolutely amazed and very proud,” said Gerald Charles Dickens.
Gerald Charles Dickens will perform "A Christmas Carol" again Sunday evening at 7:30 at the Church of the atonement, 36 Court Street in downtown Westfield.
