SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A man and a woman that Springfield police say were running a “large cocaine distribution center” were arrested following a raid on their home.

Charlie Santiago, 27, and Geneva Griffith, 26, are now facing multiple charges following their arrests on Tuesday evening.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that officers had been running surveillance on the two for the past few weeks. Delaney says police found Santiago and Griffith were delivering large amounts of cocaine, to be sold across the area.

After obtaining a search warrant, police arrived at the couple’s Brookline Avenue home around 6:15 Tuesday night, as Delaney says Santiago was getting into his car to make another delivery. He says Santiago was carrying a large amount of cocaine, and $775 in cash. Entering the apartment, they found Griffith along with “several small children.”

Also inside, Delaney says, were $6,475 in cash, 128 grams of cocaine, packaging material, a .380 caliber handgun, a fully-loaded .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun, and ammunition. He says that one of the guns was reported stolen during a home break-in two years ago.

Santiago and Griffith will be arraigned in Springfield District Court on Wednesday, on charges including trafficking in cocaine, possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
