CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Chicopee's Selser Memorial School has gone green in a big way

Once again, the state has recognized Science Teacher Judy Hebert's fifth grade classes for their daily recycling programs. 22News followed the students going to classes collecting recyclable items.

Hebert told 22News about the importance of teaching children the value of recycling.

“As I tell them all the time, when I'm sitting in a rocking chair, the world is going to be yours, and you're going to be responsible for keeping the air and the water clean. So, you might as well start now,” Hebert said.

Hebert's students also have a composting project with all the food that the students don't eat.
