SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Penn National Gaming made an agreement this week with the Early Childhood Centers of Greater Springfield to provide on-site childcare for their casino employees. But the Department of Early Education and Care has placed an enrollment freeze on the program.
Spokeswoman Kathleen Hart told 22News that the state agency made the move due to violations of regulations and policy.
22News contacted Penn National Gaming, where a company representative told 22News they are still working to get more information, and will release a statement this week.
Penn National hopes to build a casino in Springfield's North End.
