HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - Massachusetts Education Commissioner Mitchell Chester has welcome news for the Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School in Hadley.

He recommends the Kindergarten through 9th grade school be expanded to include a high school.

That would almost double the number of students who now attend the charter school.

This isn't the first time the Commissioner has shown his confidence in the school. Last year he successfully recommended that the school's charter be extended for five years.

Whether the Hadley charter school gets its high school is now up to the State Board of Education.
