SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The City of Bright Nights Ball unveiled a new chairman and theme for this year.

For the 17th annual Ball, the theme will be the "Year of the Dragon," for a year of health and prosperity.

The new chairman is Daniel Moen, President and CEO for Sisters of Providence Health System. He says this event is important for the city as a whole.

“It allows the city to have some things happen that are just a positive for everybody that lives here, everybody in the region,” Moen said.

“These are all important civic events, and Springfield really is moving forward and we want to keep that momentum going and we want to be part of that at Sisters of Providence Health System.”

This year's City of Bright Nights Ball will be November 10 at the Sheraton Monarch Place Hotel in Springfield.
