PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) - A restaurant worker was sent to the hospital and all the customers were told to get out of the Palmer McDonald's because of a carbon monoxide leak Wednesday night.
Palmer Police Sergeant Scott Haley told 22News that fumes sickened an unidentified employee at the Thorndyke Street McDonald's Restaurant at about 6:36 Wednesday night. Sgt. Haley said there was a CO leak in a line in the restaurant's heating and ventilation system.
Sgt Haley said the employee was treated by the Palmer Ambulance crew, and was taken to Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer to be checked out. He's expected to be okay.
Sgt Haley said members of the Palmer Fire Department helped evacuate the dinner-hour crowd of customers. The restaurant closed for the evening, and is expected to reopen Thursday.
