SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A coalition of community leaders is asking the Justice Department to release the results of its investigation into violations of the Federal Voting Rights Act in Springfield.

The Justice Department monitored the general election in Springfield last November after community leaders reported violations including a lack of bilingual poll workers and some voters being required to show ID.

Springfield City Councilor Zaida Luna told 22News with the primary Thursday, there is no indication that the problems have been corrected and that voters' rights will be protected.
