Davitt Bridge closing delayed

More permits needed for demolition

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - The Davitt Bridge that leads into the center of Chicopee will be open a bit longer.

Mayor Michael Bissonnette said the closing has been delayed until March or April.

He told 22News they are waiting for extra environmental permits needed to demolish the bridge.

The project to replace the bridge was expected to take two years.
