HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - A Springfield man was killed after his car crashed into a tractor trailer on Interstate 91 in Holyoke Tuesday afternoon.
According to a State Police news release, a 23-year old man from Springfield was speeding in the breakdown lane on Interstate 91 southbound when he struck the back of a disabled tractor-trailer unit around 4:18 p.m. Tuesday.
The man's name has not yet been released.
The driver of the tractor, 26-year old Lemarcus Mimes of Shelby, Mississippi, was not injured in the crash.
State Police are now trying to determine why the man was driving in the breakdown lane.
