Dog wash held for cancer research

Man's best friends did their part today to help raise money for cancer research.

They enjoyed a good washing at Dave's Soda and Pet City in Agawam. It's part of the American Cancer Society's Bark for Life program. It's a program that honors the relationship between cancer patients and their pets, and raises money for cancer research.

“There are so many people out there that have cancer and the warmth, comfort and love you get from your pet is unconditional, just to honor that in pets,” Cindy DeGray of the Bark for Life committee told 22News.

The money raised today goes towards the bark for life fundraising goal for the year of sixty thousand dollars.
