EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) - One week ago, Springfield police were searching for vandals who smashed more than half a dozen car windows in Sixteen acres. Now, East Longmeadow police are also investigating similar incidents.

The Stellato family of East Longmeadow woke up Saturday morning and found the back window of their truck shattered into pieces, but that's not the only car that's been vandalized since last Monday.

Edmund Street and John Street are just two of many streets in East Longmeadow where vandals have smashed car windows, and they aren't just targeting cars parked on streets.

The Stellato family's truck was parked just a few feet from their front door.

Rochelle Stellato told 22News, “It's really frustrating and especially when there's a little kid. He comes running out and he doesn't know and there's glass all over.”

Many people said when they talked to the police about their vandalized cars, officers told them it looks like whoever did this used BB guns to smash all the windows.

Many neighbors said, now they are worried about leaving their cars outside.

Oreste Varela of East Longmeadow said, “I am certainly concerned and I'm going to be a little more concerned because sometimes I even leave my car unlocked... overnight even because I think oh it's such a safe place.”

Bruce Goldman of East Longmeadow said, “These people obviously know what they are doing. They are targeting cars... They have an idea of what they are doing. We do rely on our car alarms and hopefully that will deter some people.”

East Longmeadow Police Sergeant Steven Manning said, they are still looking for suspects.
