East Springfield home damaged in fire

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A fire has burned some East Springfield residents out of their home.

Springfield Fire Department spokesperson Dennis Leger told 22News the house at 45 Georgetown Street was heavily damaged by the fire, which began at around 12:45 P.M.Much of the damage is in the rear of the house.

Three adults and one child, who were home at the time, got out safely. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire.

The Red Cross is helping the residents of that home.
