HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Individuals who have made an effort to change the way people recycle were honored in Holyoke Wednesday morning.
Four people were given the Outstanding Recycler Award for their contributions toward increasing recycling in their community. Agawam High School science teacher Nancy Bobskill was honored for her work in getting students to recycle. "As a town, we are trying to get near zero waste. And we started to look at school supplies and what supplies do kids use and are there ways for them to reuse those supplies and if they can't reuse them can they recycle them,” Bobskill said.
Also honored were William Bickley and James Rovezzi for overseeing a student green team at Westfield State University that monitors trash and recycling at the school during move in day and Suzanne Cordes who has improved recycling programs at her church in South Hadley.
