WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The “fairy godmothers” of Westfield went on a shopping mission Thursday at the Holyoke Mall.
Members of the Westfield Woman's Club bought gifts for 12 homeless women veterans.
The military women are suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome after serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
“Winter jackets, waterproof boots, sheets for their beds, things you and I take for granted that they just don't have,” said Mary McLoughlin.
The “fairy godmothers” plan to host a Christmas party December 13th for the 12 women veterans at the VA Medical Center in Leeds.
