AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - The town of Agawam held their annual 9-11 remembrance ceremony on Tuesday morning.

It took place at the Twin Tower Memorial Statue, which is in front of the Agawam Fire Department Headquarters on Main Street.

Members of the community turned out to reflect and remember the many lives that were lost on that tragic day.

Matt Blackak said that he came “Just to show my respect and thank everyone-- first responders--everyone that involved with helping this country.”

The Fire Department also conducted a traditional five-bell strike in memory of the fallen New York area firefighters, followed by a moment of silence.
