SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Saturday was Family Fiesta Day at the Springfield Quadrangle.

Hispanic families accepted the museum’s invitation to brush up on their Latin dancing. Just one of the many cultural comforts that Family Fiesta Day extended to Greater Springfield's Latino population.

Angel Rivera brought his children to share in the community spirit.

Rivera told 22News, “I feel it's wonderful. It gives us a sense of Hispanic community. It brings us all together. The young ones don't forget where they come from and what they have. It's sign of the future.”

The food from many Spanish speaking countries added an authentic touch to the Family Fiesta Day at the Springfield Museums.

They depended on the Spanish speaking members of their staff.

Springfield Museums employee Ashley Bereira said, “It brings together the community in a way to promote the Hispanic community about Hispanic heritage.”

Hispanic Heritage Month comes to an end on October 15th. The Museums highlighted the celebration with folklore, artwork and of course the spirited dancing and the traditional foods.
