SPRINGFIELD,Mass (WWLP) - Springfield Technical Community College held their first annual farmers market Saturday. It was comprised of Springfield area growers bringing their produce to market, in this case a winter market on a college campus.
Shoppers told 22News, they're impressed by the program known as winter fare. "It's a great way to get fresh veggies during the winter months. I like the fact that all the vendors came together for one venue here," said Lisa Noferi of Pittsfield.
And it won't be the last time they'll join forces to bring their fruits and vegetables to a winter market place. Locally grown produce will be sold at Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School in Northampton on January 15th.
