GRANBY, Mass. (WWLP) - Volunteers are helping put the finishing touches on a new home in Granby for wounded Marine, Sgt. Joshua Bouchard.
Bouchard was severely injured while serving in Afghanistan in 2009. While on his second deployment, he lost his leg and broke his back when his humvee drove over an IED.
A national non-profit organization out of Taunton called “Homes for our Troops," along with numerous volunteers, are constructing a specially adapted home for Bouchard in Granby.
Friday volunteers from the 22News sales department joined others to help get the house ready.
According to A.J. Crane, the lead project manager, “I've never been in the military or anything like that but this guy went to work for us. His life will be changed forever and I feel like it’s the least we can do.”
Volunteers hope to have the house ready in a couple of weeks.
