SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Fire leaves a home in Springfield damaged.

The fire started at this home at 311 Rosewell Street around 11:30 Sunday morning.

Dennis Leger, aide to the Springfield fire department commissioner told 22News that the fire started on the first floor of the home and spread to the 2nd floor.

Leger said the fire did burn some utility wires, which fell on a chain link fence, electrifying it for a short time.

The man who lived in the home refused any help from the American Red Cross.

He is not able to stay in the home.
