Fire hydrant accident makes a wet mess

Parts of Whiting Farms Road flooded Sunday

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - It was a quiet Sunday morning along Whiting Farms road in Holyoke until a pick up truck ran into a fire hydrant.

It quickly caused problems on the road many shoppers take to get from route 5 to the Holyoke Mall as water rushed from the fire hydrant and onto the street.

Holyoke Police Lt. David Fornier told 22News homes lost power and they did have to shut down Whiting Farms Road for awhile.
