CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Hundreds of thousands of people will be looking to the skies in Chicopee this weekend, as The Great New England Air Show begins.
The theme of this year's show is ' A Salute to the Greatest Generation.' -- the heroes of WWII. There will be dozens of modern and vintage aircraft, so many that you won't even see the same ones twice in the all-day air shows.
This free event attracts thousands of spectators so you'll want to plan accordingly.
There are three entrances.
Visitors can enter the main entrance on Westover Road, but there is also an entrance on James Street and a back entrance on New Ludlow Road in Granby.
Heavy traffic is expected on the Mass Pike.
There are actually electronic signs on I-91 warning drivers of any delays.
Mass-D-O-T says they'll make sure to update these signs for driver, this weekend, to help keep traffic moving through exits 5 -7.
It all starts at 10 this morning.
