Fog creates hazardous road conditions

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - If you were out on the road Saturday night you may have noticed that traffic moved a little bit slower in parts of the Pioneer Valley.

It's because some drivers were having a hard time seeing.

One Forest Park man told 22News he was just glad the road conditions didn't complicate things more.

“I have a nice car with the fog lights on. It's alright. The main thing is road conditions. No ice, no water, it's not slippery,” Edward Shvetsov said.

Drivers are encouraged to watch the speedometer in foggy conditions. Fog creates a visual illusion of slow motion when you may actually be speeding.
