Food photography facing criticism from some chefs

(WWLP) - Believe it or not, some chefs are getting fed up with patrons taking pictures of their food.

It has become a common practice for many people to snap photos with their smartphone or camera of their dishes when they eat out, and then post them on social media outlets.

Critics of the practice argue that it's ruining the ambiance and dining experience for other customers.

Suzanne Corbett of Ashfield told 22News that she doesn’t appreciate it when others are snapping pictures of their food while she’s trying to eat.

“I believe that's being disruptive and not being respectful to other people in the area and the proximity to where they are,” Corbett said. “I wouldn't do it. But I don't think you can ban somebody from doing it.”

Still, some are trying to do just that.

The New York Times reports that some chefs have enforced a no-flash policy in their restaurants, while others have completely banned customers from taking pictures.
