SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Fire damaged two apartments in Springfield's Forest Park neighborhood Monday morning.

Aide to the Springfield Fire Commissioner Dennis Leger told 22News the fire started around 5 A.M. at 34 Barney Lane.

According to Leger, that apartment, as well as an adjoining unit at 32 Barney Lane, were damaged.

Leger says 3 adults will be assisted by the Red Cross.

The fire was caused by unattended cooking.
