SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Dunkin Donuts in Springfield's Forest Park neighborhood is getting a makeover.
Reps from the franchise were at the Forest Park Civic Association meeting Sunday night to present their plans for the property at Dickinson Street and Belmont Avenue. They'd like to tear down two buildings next to the Dunkin Donuts so they can move it back.
One of the reasons for the property change is to prevent cars from cutting through the parking lot.
The president of the civic association told 22news some of their concerns.
“If there's a new building, to be aesthetically pleasing, also pedestrian friendly. Not just concerned with how many cars can go through but who can walk up to that building safely without having to deal with a myriad of cars,” Jane Hetzel told 22News.
Hetzel said Dunkin Donuts has always been a good neighbor, and the civic association appreciates being kept in the loop of their plans.
