WEST SPRINGFIELD, Ma (WWLP) - People of all faiths united together in support of Muslims in Western Massachusetts.
The Islamic Society of Western Mass held a public forum to discuss the continued concern over hostility towards Muslim communities.
The Interfaith Council Generally says there's been a negative attitude of Islam as a faith and the people themselves.
Martin Pion from The Interfaith Council of Western Mass told 22News, “We want to just remind people in the area that these are our friends, these are good people, this is a faith of peace, and we respect that as an organization.
Resident of Granby, Peggy Anderson, said “This is America; we're supposed to be a place where everyone can practice their own religion.”
Most recently a controversial sign in Palmer targeted Muslims sparking outrage in the community.
