FEEDING HILLS, Mass. (WWLP) - Members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force had to work to free a fugitive drug suspect who they say got stuck hiding under a sink.

According to a news release sent to 22News by the U.S. Marshals Service, Tyler Wimberly, 23, of Springfield was arrested at a Feeding Hills apartment complex early Thursday morning.

Wimberly was wanted on federal charges of conspiracy to distribute, and possession with intent to distribute cocaine base. Investigators found that Wimberly was staying with his girlfriend at the Pheasant Hill Village apartments at 44 Paul Revere Drive.

Thursday morning, members of the Fugitive Task Force surrounded the building before entering. Inside, they allegedly found Wimberly hiding under a kitchen sink. They had to work to get him out, as he had become stuck in the confined space.

“You can run but you can’t hide, not even under the kitchen sink,” U.S. Marshal John Gibbons said in the release. “This is an example of our continued partnership with our local, state and federal partners.”

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force was assisted by the Massachusetts State Police, Holyoke Police, West Springfield Police, Springfield Police, and Agawam Police. The investigation had originated with the Springfield Police Narcotics Bureau.

Wimberly will be arraigned at U.S. District Court in Springfield.
