CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Gas prices are down again this week; the busiest travel week of the year.
With just four days until Thanksgiving, gas prices dropped an average of seven cents in the last two weeks nationwide. Across the country, regular gas is now at an average of $3.47 per gallon.
Gas is somewhat more expensive here in western Massachusetts, however. AAA of Southern New England reports that in Springfield, gas is selling for an average of $3.59 per gallon. That’s down four cents from last week, and 25 cents from a month ago.
“It helps it a lot, definitely, since I'm going to Palmer for Thanksgiving,” said one driver 22News spoke with at a Chicopee Sunoco station.
Memphis, Tennessee has the lowest gas prices at an average of $3.04 per gallon, while California drivers are paying the most for gas, at $3.83 per gallon.
