SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A hole in an auxiliary water pipe on Ashley Street in Springfield is spraying water about 30 feet into the air.

Sgt. Dennis Pryor told 22News the pipes are there because the main underground pipe was shut off because of construction in the area.

Sgt. Pryor says it's not causing any traffic problems and no roads are closed.

He said the pipe has been leaking since about 3:30PM Sunday.

They plan on fixing the problem sometime Monday morning.
