WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A word to the wise about using restaurant gift cards as soon as possible.

The sudden closing of the Piccadilly Pub restaurant on Riverdale street in West Springfield has raised the question how can people redeem gift cards to this restaurant?

Springfield Director of Consumer Affairs, Milagros Johnson told 22News, card holders are out of luck If the restaurant chain went bankrupt.

She recalls that only once gift card owners got their money back when a Springfield restaurant closed and that had nothing to do with the restaurant going bankrupt.

Some Pickadilly Pub customers hadn't heard what happened and they were disappointed to find out that Sunday was the last day they could have ordered one of the Pickadilly Pub final specials.
