Gunmen pistol-whip victim during bar room robbery

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Two armed men robbed a bar and possibly several patrons at Coconuts Bar & Grill in Springfield Monday night.

Springfield Police Captain William Collins told 22News that one of the men waved a handgun and hit someone in the face with the pistol.

The robbers took cash from the register and took personal money from people inside the bar at about 9:20 Monday night.

Manager Vinny Santaniello told 22News that there were no customers in the bar at the time.

Coconuts Bar and Grill is located at 459 Dickinson Street, near the "X" in Springfield.

The robbers were seen running away through a rear parking lot and down a side street.   No one has been arrested so far, and no suspects have been identified.
