SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The American Red Cross and local businesses will host Tiffany Hall Memorial CPR Training Day Saturday at the Dunbar Community Center in Springfield.

Springfield native Tiffany Hall died in April. She could have survived if someone who knew CPR had been around.

Now, her family and local organizations are encouraging every one to be trained. The session Saturday will teach hands-only CPR, which Caitlin O’Hara of the Pioneer Valley Red Cross says is a great thing to learn.

“This makes it a lot easier. There's a lot higher level of response in the public because it's less scary. And it's actually just as effective. There's less contact, so people are more wiling to jump up and help,” O’Hara said.

The event is free, but they are asking for $10 donations to go toward a scholarship fund set up in memory of Hall.

There are two sessions, one at 8:30 A.M. and one at 10:30 A.M. To register, visit www.springfieldy.org .
