HOLYOKE, Mass (WWLP) - Holyoke Community College has launched a business network designed for women.

About two dozen women signed up for HCC's first meeting of "Network of Women Entrepreneurs."

The course covers starting a business, developing strategic & marketing plans and staffing.

Women already established in their own businesses are finding value in this course.

"We're looking to expand... to grow, and to make sure that in the process of growing we don't hit any of the pitfalls,"  said Kimberly Gavin who co-owns Bytebak Computers with her husband in Springfield.

Jessica Wisniewski started "Relish the Harvest" in Sunderland.  She  manufactures her mother's recipe for organic sweet zucchini relish in bulk.

"Our community in western Massachusetts supports small businesses and local businesses, and wants people to achieve their dreams in life," Wisniewski told 22News.

HCC's "Network of Women Entrepreneurs" meets next at the Kittredge Center on campus January 22nd, when they'll explore more tips on sustaining a successful business,  and stress management.
