CHICOPEE, Mass (WWLP) - With a another major snow storm headed our way again....people are getting used to hunkering down at home. But what if you are homebound and even during the better weather breaks cannot get what you need?

Many senior members in the Springfield community still live at home but might not be able to drive anymore or live alone.
How can they best cope and prepare for this relentless weather and who/what can help?

Suzanne McElroy is a senior care expert and owner of the Home Instead Senior Care office in Springfield and she says the most important thing for seniors to remember is "Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Check in with a neighbor, friend or nearby relative to see if they are available to pick up what you need in advance ...and to help keep your walkways and driveway clear so emergency vehicles could reach you if there were ever a need."
