SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - It's the time of year for high school seniors to apply for college and 22News is working for you tonight with a way to help pay for it.
The ACCESS Springfield Promise Program wants to get the word out that there are funds available to help college students pay for school.
ACCESS is a non-profit that provides financial aid guidance and information to thousands of students in Massachusetts.
Lorenzo Gaines, the Springfield program director, told 22News that too many people go on to school who find they can't afford it.
"There's a national survey that says 83 percent of the students who go on to college did not have the necessary information to pay for college, so this is where we come in and our services are crucial, to help people find an affordable way through a college education."
If you would like to contact the ACCESS Springfield Promise Program, you can call their offices at (413) 755-4909, or you can go onto their website at accessedu.org .
