Nurse involved in prank killed herself

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The London nurse who killed herself after getting tricked in a prank call left a suicide note.

Jacintha Saldanha was found dead Friday morning following a hoax by two Australian deejays. The deejays got the nurse to tell them private information about Princess Kate's hospital stay.

Attorney Dave Crevier of Crevier & Ryan LLP told 22News that Massachusetts has harrassment and bullying laws.  A hoax like this could potentially land a prankster in jail for up to 2 and half years.

“If you were to call a hospital here in Massachusetts, pretend to be a relative the person who's there or do anything to obtain any information that should otherwise not be disposed by the hospital, you could subject yourself to criminal penalties,” Crevier said.

According to Britain's The Sun tabloid, the 46-year-old nurse, a mother of two, hanged herself in the nurses' quarters.
