HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - The Holyoke St. Patrick's Committee recognized some community members with prestigious awards.

A dinner reception was held at the Log Cabin in Holyoke.

The committee bestowed PeoplesBank President Douglas Bowen with the 48th Citizenship Award.

It's given to a person who has, over the years, made substantial contributions to the parade or the committee.

“To be a Holyoke native and to be acknowledged by people in your own town. It's for me, but I accept it on behalf of the 250 employees at PeoplesBank. They're really the ones who work hard every day to make the region a better place to work, live, and raise families,” Bowen told 22News.

Bowen joined three other community leaders who received other committee awards.

The St. Patrick's committee puts on the Saint Patrick's Parade, which this year will be on St. Patrick's Day and as always, 22News will be marching.
