HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - The Holyoke Geriatric Authority is very cautious about allowing visitors during this flu season.
Director of Nursing Karen Hanley notified 22News today that they’re reviewing the temporary "no visitors allowed" policy on a day to day basis.
Hanley said their concern is “to keep the 80 residents healthy. Some of these folks in their 80’s are suffering from respiratory problems but not the flu.”
Another concern is that some of the visitors may have flu symptoms and haven't received their flu shots.
It's been two weeks since the no visitor policy went into effect. Hanley and her staff will meet again Monday to access the situation.
