HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Five young women are one step closer to becoming the 2013 Grand Colleen in Holyoke’s St. Patrick's Day Parade.
The finalists chosen on Saturday night will advance to the annual coronation ball on Saturday, February 16 at the Log Cabin. This year's grand marshal and last year's grand colleen spoke with 22news about the experience.
“This is going to be a magnificent ride for each of these young ladies. They are going to have 2 or 3 months they're going to remember the rest of their lives,” Brian Corridan said.
“It’s unlike anything else. It's like traveling as a western mass princess. Just a fairy tale, absolute fairy tale. Sitting on top of a float? Wonderful,” said Brianna Fitz.
This year's 62nd parade in Holyoke Falls is on St. Patrick's Day, March 17th.
