HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - This year the Holyoke St. Patrick's Parade falls on St. Patrick's Day, making it even more of an honor for those involved.

On Friday night, the parade marshal Brian Corridan was recognized at a special reception. Corridan is a local business leader and an active member of the Chicopee Parade Committee. And since 2003 he has been the commentator and host of the parade.

"It's an honor because of the hard work and diligence that has gone on, not just this year or last year; this has gone on for decades and even generations,” said Corridan. “And to be asked to lead this parade on St. Patrick’s Day of all days is a tremendous honor."

The Holyoke St. Patrick’s Parade is the second largest in the country.
