Home invasion arrest made in Springfield

Gun used turned out to be a fake

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Two men are under arrest for an armed home invasion Thursday morning in Springfield.

24-year old twin brothers Roberto and Eriberto Villafane, of Springfield were charged with armed home invasion, assault and threat to murder.

Springfield police Sergeant John Delaney told 22News police received a call just before 11 am from a man who lives at 62 Peer Street saying two men, armed with handguns forced their way into his home.
  
The cops arrived at the home fast, and Sgt. Delaney said officers caught the suspects nearby.
   
The gun used in the home invasion turned out to be fake.
